The 1995 pandemic plague film Outbreak starring Dustin Hoffman and Morgan Freeman in which a flu like virus has nearly wiped out a CIA sponsored mercenary camp in Zaire, Central Africa.
The movie starts when two U.S. Army doctors in biohazard suits land in helicopter to assess the situation where they encounter a number of sick men. Upon leaving the scene one of them say "it's even worse than I thought, get the plane here."
Sometime later the men start running for the center of the camp waving their arms at the sight of the plane thinking it is there to give them medicine, ammunition, and other supplies, but what drops out is a large cylinder that turns the camp into a giant mushroom cloud.
The rest of it is Dustin Hoffman trying to stop the same thing from happening to a small American two full of infected people.
