A few months back a loud noise in the dryer led to the discovery that a Whirlpool washing machine destroyed my Android smartphone. When I removed it from the dryer to stop the loud noise I tried to turn it on and although the red light would show I could never get past a black screen. Initially I blamed the dryer due to the loud noise that appeared to be the result of the dryer mistreating my smartphone, but when I called Verizon to get a new phone under my insurance policy they told me that the cause of the damage was water.
That water damage could only have been caused by one thing and that one thing was the Whirlpool washing machine that I had washed my clothes in. Apparently someone at Whirlpool thought that it would be ok to build a washing machine that washes clothes containing electronics with no regard for their circuits. Good move Whirlpool, NOT! Next time you build a washer remember to add a metal detector or something that checks for an electronic circuit before soaking the clothes, is that too hard?
