675,000 people were killed by the worst pandemic in the history of America. In 1918 while the country was focused on ending Word War I a greater threat hit the home front when a killer strain of influenza broke out at an army hospital. It would spread around the country striking fear into all and kill hundreds of thousands more than every war of the last century combined.
