Once you really learn how to play and get into a game you will keep saying to yourself "just one more turn" as you plot your way to world domination. This game is really special because it is always fresh and by that I mean every game is different from the last. You can win in several way such as being the first to send a man to Mars, conquer a majority of the planet, build an amazing culture that is the envy of others, or dominate with religion. The diplomacy adds an interesting component that requires you to balance your relationships with other nations to improve trade and defense while at the same time trying not to piss them off and find yourself at war with everyone all the time. If you have played a Civilization game before you know what I am talking about. If you have never played that you need to find out what I am talking about.
