SuperDeluxe: Misleading Value Meal Advertisement

When I visited a SuperDeluxe burger joint in Portland, Oregon today I noticed a misleading advertisement on the giant board next to the menu behind the counter. When I got home I found the same misleading sales pitch on their website which reads "add a regular drink and fries to any sandwich and save $1." When I ordered a Single Deluxe burger with fries and a drink they didn't reduce the price by $1. They should have lowered the price from $5.95 (the price for a Single Deluxe burger) to $4.95. Instead they tried to charge me over $10. It turns out they only subtracted $1 from the line price of the burger before charging more than twice as much to include fries and a drink. I didn't feel like paying over $10 just to add fries and a 16 ounce drink, so I just ordered the burger. At least the burger was good though.

Possible COVID Carrier in Portland

While waiting for my appointment today, a red Toyota Camry with license plate 644DKD pulled up. A woman opened the front door of the clinic, but did not enter. She complained saying "you can't keep me on hold forever." Then she went back to her car. Some time later a staff member went out covered in a gown with gloves and a face shield. She swabbed her mouth and came back in. I later asked a staff member if that was a COVID test and was told that it was, but they would not tell me the results. I could tell that it was a COVID test because the front door of the clinic has a sign telling people with COVID symptoms not to enter. Had the incompetent receptionist not kept her on hold she would not have entered. I now fear to exit the place because the door might be contaminated. I have been dissatisfied with the staff member who kept the woman on hold recently.

Why do so many crazy people use Post Almost Anything?

Why is it that the Post Almost Anything user base appears full of crazy people? Just one glance at the Rants and Raves section reveals the work of pissed off people that can't spell or just don't take the time to proof read their work. Their work is often full of wild accusations include poorly edited pictures of those that displease them. As an neutral third party I am often not in a position to judge the veracity of their statements, but I also know the signs of a disorganized crazy thinker when I see them. I will be browsing this site from time to time looking for the work of crazy users and calling it out.

Honey Bee in My Driscoll's Raspberries

When I was making my usual Honey Nut Cheerios with raspberries this morning I found a honey bee in my Driscoll's raspberries. Good thing I am not allergic to bees because even though the bee was dead I could have had a problem. I still ate the berries though. They are good but not great and a lot of the time they are not fully ripe when purchased but other than that they are alright. Nothing really special or notable unless they come with bees in them.

How to Setup Secure Transport Security for WWW Redirect

If you are trying to configure Secure Transport Security headers for your ASP.Net web site then you need to be careful not to include subdomains unless you already have a wildcard SSL certificate or the certificate is issued to the www version of your domain. I found this out after adding Secure Transport Security to this website. After I did that the redirect from www to non www resulted in a privacy error in Google Chrome before the redirect could be processed. I solved this simply by removing "includeSubDomains" from the Strict-Transport-Security value in my web.config file. The new value just includes max-age. This was not a problem on another site of mine where I had a wildcard SSL certificate. On that site www.site.com would be covered by a certificate issued to *.site.com but this site has a certificate issued to nolimitlist.com so a call to www.nolimitlist.com returns an invalid certificate. I wish I had gotten a wildcard because I intend to add subdomains in the future for geographic areas. Conclusion Buy a wildcard certificate or do not include subdomains in your Secure-Transport-Security value in your web.config file. Secure Transport Security is not really necessary if you build your site right anyway. Just make sure everything redirects to HTTPS and all of your links link to https URLs and the site will be HTTPS everywhere.

Thanks for spamming my inbox with scams claiming to be from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. I am not a funds beneficiary so I don't want to see another message that says "Attention Funds Beneficiary" ever again. If anyone gets the same email beware that it is a scam. Don't respond or give them any of your info.

hMailServer Users Be Careful to Check That Box

If you use hMailServer and are a novice be careful to check that box that says require smtp authentication for local to external messages. You can find this box in the ip ranges section of hMailServer Administrator. I learned this lesson the hard way when a spoofer sent tens of thousands of spam emails through my server. I never much even looked at that little box before. But if you do not check it an email can go to the server that looks like it is from you and it will send it out to whoever you address it to. It shocks me that it would even be an option not to have that enabled.

Have you ever noticed how posting comments about the owner of STDCarriers.com dont show up on the home page like all the others. look at this screen shot. i posted a comment asking how was jail? and even though it is the only comment anyone has posted besides him since he got out the most recent comment on the home page under latest comments says something he wrote about vernon maxwell. the owner is someone whose name is flagged as a dirty word by this supposedly censorship free website. i tried to post it with a link and even the link got replaced with "bad word" BULLSHITTTTT!!!!

Dallas Liddell Found Guilty of False Police Report

Dallas Liddell was found guilty of filing a false report with the Portland Police after assaulting a customer at the Dancin Bare club in 2010. Evidence against him included accounts by police officers documenting his self described attempts to improperly tell a customer how to use his own cell phone. This intrusion upon customer property was followed by a false accusation that a customer had been drinking beer out of other customer's pitchers when in fact that customer had ordered a Diet Coke before accepting a beer from his friends at which point it became his beer. Liddell attempted to steal that customer's beer despite being told to keep his distance and mind his own business. As part of his incompetence he knocked the customer's beer glass into a TV before blaming the customer for breaking the plastic plasma TV cover. The customer in question was attempting to leave the premises when Liddell approached him and was warned to stay away. Liddell then attempted to give him an order to take his hand out of his pocket to which the customer advised him to stay away. Liddell then attacked the customer and stole his picket knife as he attempted to deploy it in self defense. Liddell then relied on the help of Jason Marshall to carry out an attempted murder attempt by placing the customer in a choke hold. Once police arrived Liddell and Marshall were kept at a safe distance from the customer. That customer has since taken action against Liddell and Marshall for assault on his person, theft of property, and filing a false police report. Dallas Liddell is known to work as a bouncer/security guard in the Portland area despite his poor customer service record.
