How to Remove Your IP Address From Malwarebytes Block List Quickly

Anyone whose used Malwarebytes Premium for any length of time can tell you that Malwarebytes does an excellent job staying up to date on current threats and protecting your computer from those threats. Unfortunately, that security comes with a downside and that downside is false positives. False positives occur when Malwarebytes misidentifies something as a threat. This happened to me recently. I had rented a new server and when I tried to login via Windows Remote Desktop the action was blocked by Malwarebytes and a trojan warning was displayed. Knowing that the warning was probably the result of a previous tenant abusing that server, I added the IP address to my Allow List and was able to migrate my sites successfully. A little over a week after the migration was finished I was informed by a user that they could not access one of the sites due to a trojan warning from Malwarebytes. This was a surprise to me because I did not realize that the block applied to websites on the server as well and I thought Malwarebytes would be more up to date. I verified the problem by removing the IP address from my Allow List and trying to access the website. My attempt was blocked due to a trojan according to Malwarebytes. My attention then turned to getting that IP address declared safe and removed from the blocklist as soon as possible. To my pleasant surprise, I found a way to get the IP address cleared quickly. I created a post on the Malwarebytes forum which read as follows: "I rented a new VPS on 3/8 and had to add the IP address (45.141.58.191) to my ignore list just to login an start migrating websites to it. Today learned that anyone trying to visit any site at that IP address is still getting blocked by Malwarebytes and receiving a trojan warning. When I logged into it via Windows Remote Desktop the first time I could tell it was a fresh installation of Windows Server 2019 DC, so obviously the trojan warning must be due to the last customer using that IP hosting a trojan. How do I get my IP removed from the Malwarebytes blacklist?" A Malwarebytes staff member replied in less than an hour saying "Hello, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We've reviewed the IP again and have determined it no longer warrants being blocked so we've removed it from our database. Removal should be reflected in the next database update going out in a few hours or so." Right now I am waiting for that update to purge my IP address from their block list. Conclusion Webmasters who find the IP addresses of their new servers blocked by Malwarebytes should post the problem in the official Malwarebytes support forums in the false positives/website blocking section (https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/123-website-blocking/). Malwarebytes staff will likely read it and take action if the IP address no longer deserves to be on their block list.

Typically all you need to do is copy and paste the uniform resource locator (URL) from your browser into the video URL text box when creating or editing a post. If you are watching a video as part of a playlist, channel, or while managing your own videos there may be additional characters in the URL that could make the browser copy and paste method ineffective. To make sure you are using the permalink URL always use the URL located below the video description on the upper right hand side of the page. This is clearly identified as "URL" and located directly above what You Tube wants you to use for embedding their videos that is labeled "EMBED". DO NOT USE YOU TUBE'S EMBED CODE! Instead just use the URL and our code will do the rest. This method not only makes the video fit our dimensions, but eliminates many annoying tags and links that You Tube includes with their code. URL in Page Source Sometimes you can find a Flash URL by looking at the source code of the page. In Internet Explorer you can do this by selecting "view" and scrolling down to "source". Hidden URL If all else fails the website has gone to lengths to hide the Flash URL or they may use another format. In either case you may still be able to find the source URL using special software.

MTV, VH1, and Comedy Central videos are hard to embed. This is because you CAN NOT just copy and paste the URL from your browser into the video URL text box when creating or editing a post. Instead you must locate the source URL in the embed code that they provide, find it among large amounts of irrelevant code, copy it, and then past it into the video URL textbox. This is best done by copying the code into notepad and finding the line of code that starts with "http://media.mtvnservices.com/" circled in the image on this page.

How to Embed Hulu Videos by Extracting URLs from Embed Code

Hulu videos can be a bit tricky to embed compared to content from typical streaming media sites. This is because the uniform resource locator (URL) visible in your browser cannot be used to determine the source URL due to the fact that Hulu source URL's are encrypted in their embed code. To emebed Hulu videos you must manually extract the source URL from the embed code provided by Hulu before you copy and paste it into the video url text box when making or editing a post. You can find source URL's by clicking on the "embed" icon while watching a Hulu video and then extracting the part of the code circled in green below. If a video is flagged by Hulu as mature then you must sign up for a Hulu membership before you can view of find the embed code from that video.

How to Embed Daily Motion Videos on No Limit List

Embedding videos from DailyMotion.com used to be a little tricky at times, but now that they have stopped stuffing the URLs of landing pages for individual videos you won't find a bunch of irrelevant querystrings in the URLs anymore. Now all you have to do is copy the permalink URL from your browser before pasting it into the video URL textbox on any form used to post an ad or article on No Limit List. Watch Out for Hash # Symbols! Sometime you might have a hash # symbol in your Daily Motion URL that will cause a false positive for URL validation controls on sites in the No Limit List network. This should not happen on No Limit List itself, but older sites might have a problem. For instance this video URL http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xhr1zs_borat-proposes-to-pamela_shortfilms#rel-page-1 could cause an embedding problem, so you should remove the "#rel-page-1" part of it and try again. DO NOT USE DAILY MOTION'S EMBED CODE! Daily Motion embed code contains HTML code not allowed by No Limit List or its partner websites as part of a spam prevention measure. As a result you must use the permalink URL when adding videos to this site. UPDATE: Unfortunately this method does not work on videos if they don't normally have a shared option on Daily Motion. Hopefully a word around can be found soon.
