New WebWatcher Affiliate Program Denies Old Members

When the WebWatcher Affiliate Program moved from Commission Junction to LinkShare I didn't think much of it since I already had a LinkShare account, but when I applied for the WebWatcher Affiliate Program my application was rejected. Normally I don't mind getting rejected from an affiliate program, but since I did take the time to write an original description of their product I am not happy with this. Jerry Bruckheimer produced this 1998 hit Enemy of the State starring Will Smith and Gene Hackman in which corrupt National Security Agency (NSA) official is Thomas Brian Reynolds (Jon Voight) is caught on tape killing someone. Unfortunately for Robert Clayton Dean (Will Smith) the proof gets slipped into his bag at a lingerie shop and he becomes the subject of a relentless manhunt. Unfortunately for Dean his pursuers are aided by their ability to abuse NSA computers and satellites capable of hacking into every account he owns and following his every move. Fortunately for Dean he meets Edward Lyle (Gene Hackman) who knows how to hide from government technology.

Free Picture of Binary Code from The Matrix Discovered

I downloaded it and I don't really want it anymore, so I'm posting it here and copying the original to my Recycling Bin before deleting it. Fallout 3 Saves are Big and Can Fill Up a XBOX 360 HD

Today I finally realized that I wouldn't have time to play Fallout 3 again if I wanted to, so I finally deleted 6.5 gigs worth of add-ons and saves. Most of it was saves because saves as large as 5mb or 6mb a piece were using up my memory and around the early summer of 09 I realized that I had to either delete the entire folder for that game or go through as many as 450 to 500 plus saves before deleting them one by one to free up space. I decided to be more careful with future games to prevent them from taking up that much space, but since I have one of the original XBOX 360s the hard drive is only like 20gb. Inevitably despite not playing video games very much these days I finally had to get rid of that game. Its good and maybe I'll play it again for nostalgic reasons in like 5 or 10 years since its too old to sell or trade in at any considerable value. I had every single downloadable add-on for that game and I played it a lot back in 2009 when I would have either been bored or doing that, but also because I would You Tube gameplay videos featuring URLs to websites of mine with stuff like a good cheat I stumbled on, massacres, and weapon demos for the add-ons some of which got quite popular. Whenever playing through a game with the idea in mind of You Tubing parts of it saving in the right places often is key to being able to come back later and film an event or do a quick re-take. Maybe this is why Bethesda Softworks restricted all users to 100 saves max in Fallout New Vegas. I strongly suspect this of being the case, so hopefully Bethesda learned their lesson.

The Shortcoming Convenience of Aurora 3D Logo Maker

UPDATE: I've changed this review from a rant to a rave because Aurora 3D Software fixed their Aurora 3D Logo Maker so that you can wrap text all the way around a circle and you can save projects without losing images deleted from your desktop. Now if you download the latest version, start a project, and select "Save As Package" you won't have problems if you delete images from where they were loaded from. I'll be changing my rating from 2 start to 4 also because I really like using this program for most logo related stuff, but I would still like to see them use "Save As Package" as the default method for saving projects and even though I understand that this software is primarily designed for creating logos or buttons instead of charts I would like to see at least some gridline .svg files added for people that want to make small charts. Original Rant: Shortcoming and convenient sums up Aurora 3D Logo Maker from Aurora 3D Software, a software application designed for people with better things to do than learn graphic design and better things to spend their money on than graphic designers. It offers a quick and convenient way to create a 3D logo for your business or website simply by dragging shapes onto the screen, typing text, and importing images. The end result is an easy 3D logo in no time and a very difficult 3D logo after many hours if you want certain basic features that are common among logos, but not supported by Aurora 3D logo maker. One of the unsupported features is curved text wrapped around a circle. You see this type of text in logos all the time such as the Presidential seal where the words "Seal of the President of the United States" wrapped around an eagle logo. Unfortunately it is impossible to create a 3D version in Aurora 3D Logo Maker because nothing supports simple circular text. The closest option Aurora has is to create a circle or sphere shape before applying a sector or arch distortion to the text, but even at full distortion levels the text does not curve enough to wrap around a circle. Another unsupported feature is charts or grids for graphs. I'm currently trying to make a 3D chart for comparing product features, but with no grid support I am having to create each square manually and line them up next to each other tediously. To make matters worth the 3D aspects of the program such as lighting and depth make the edges extremely difficult to line up evenly every time. Overall Opinion Aurora 3D Chart and Logo Maker is a great way to cut corners when you need a quick 3D logo as long as you don't run into its limitation road blocks. If you know how to make your own 3D graphics don't bother buying this and if you do buy it be prepared to choose between disappointment or compromise. As of now I'm going to have to stop trying to use this product because of time constraints, but hopefully they will return the call I made to their Google Voice phone (662) 786-0090 so that I can find out if there are any features I couldn't find to solve my problems. UPDATE: After using this product to create several 3D logos quickly and easily I'm not as disappointed with my purchase as I once was. Still they have problems that should be fixed. Unless they release a patch consumers should be aware of the following problems: 1. Grid line support should be added preferably as an option for text objects. 2. The ability to wrap text around a circle perfectly at a 360 degree angle should be added. 3. Images in projects should be stored in the project when imported so that temporary file deletions won't make projects unusable in the future.

McAfee Total Protection Deletes Emails with No Warning

McAfee Total Protection 2012 deletes emails from you Microsoft Outlook inbox by default without sending them to your junk mail, spam, or deleted folders in some cases. I found this out the hard way when trying to reset my password for a website I was recently using. I found out by checking my messages, seeing the message appear in my inbox, and then seeing it disappear. To make matters worse my subscription had expired and I had chosen better network security software to use instead. As a result I could just bring up a McAfee menu to grant permission to that domain for sending me email because I got a notice to buy it instead. I had to uninstall my expired McAfee to get it to work. Now that my password is reset I can only imagine how many email I did not get. Getting rid of spam is one thing, but important messages is another.

Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970) DVD

Dr. Charles Forbin (Eric Braeden) builds a supercomputer called Colossus in Colossus: The Forbin Project as part of a secret US government project. The purpose of the project is to protect America from the Soviet Union by building an advanced artificial intelligence program capable of responding to any and all types of possible nuclear attacks. The computer called Colossus is put in charge of all nuclear weapons, but also controls all other computers letting keep an eye on everyone. Eventually Colossus discovers that the Soviets have built an similar computer called Guardian and asks to be hooked up with it. Eventually the two computers become one and decide that getting rid of humans is the best thing for the planet. Its a good example of what can happen when a computer is put in charge of everything. The geek gets arrested on charges of being a Soviet spy, but the game is not over and with the WOPR being in charge of all US nuclear forces he must try to save the world from nuclear armageddon.
